Vassilis Foteinakis was born in May 1968 in Athens, Greece. He graduated in 1990 as a licensed Ophthalmic Optician/Contact Lens Practitioner from the Department of Optics and Optometry, T.E.I. Athens. He began working as a Contact Lens Practitioner in 1990. After receiving a Greek State Scholarship, he continued his studies at UMIST, UK, earning an M.Sc. in Optometry in 1993. Since 1995, he has worked as Chief Contact Lens Practitioner in Athens and taught at T.E.I. Athens. He has authored books on Low Vision and Contact Lenses, published research, and has been a long-time member of the BCLA. He resides in Vrilissia, Athens with his family.
