VASILEIOS KOZOMBOLIS

Vasileios Kozombolis was born in Athens. He graduated with honors from the University of Messina, Italy, and specialized in Ophthalmology at the Hippocratio Hospital in Athens. He obtained his PhD from the University of Crete (exfoliation syndrome and glaucoma, Excellent/1996). He was a member of the Pan-Cretan Ophthalmology Clinic and the VEMMO research team. He became a professor and Director of the Ophthalmology Clinic at Democritus University of Thrace in 2002. He founded Greece's first eye bank and has made significant contributions to ophthalmic research.
